Max Verstappen has already completed a first digital lap of the newest Formula 1 circuit, the Madring. Ahead of the Spanish GP, Red Bull shares a video in which the driver drives around the circuit on the computer for the first time. For Verstappen, the track is still a bit unfamiliar: “I hope this doesn’t happen in real life,” he says when the RB22 hits the barriers.
This weekend, Max Verstappen faces a completely new challenge: his first race weekend at the brand-new Madring circuit. He is by no means the only one; only Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, and Carlos Sainz have had the chance to drive some laps on the new battleground of the Spanish GP. Red Bull allowed their driver to get digitally acquainted with the Madring ahead of the Grand Prix.

“You haven’t driven here at all yet?” Verstappen is asked as he begins his lap on the Spanish circuit. “No, I have absolutely no idea where the track goes,” he confirms in the new Red Bull video. The four-time world champion then crashes into the barriers: “I hope this doesn’t happen in real life.”
