Liam Lawson will also compete for Red Bull Racing at the Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid next weekend as a temporary teammate of Max Verstappen. The New Zealander is also the replacement for Isack Hadjar in the Spanish capital, who is struggling with a wrist injury. Lawson previously stood in at Zandvoort and Monza.

The Red Bull team states in a statement that Hadjar’s injury recovery is progressing positively, but he is not yet fit enough for a comeback behind the wheel. The Frenchman with Algerian roots will be present in Madrid next weekend to support the team. Because Lawson will once again race for Red Bull, the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda will return to the cockpit at the sister team Racing Bulls.
