The Formula 1 and MotoGP races in Qatar are still on the schedule. This was reported by the chairman of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF) Abdul Rahman bin Abdullatif Al Mannai. The Grand Prix scheduled for the weekend of November 27 to 29 is under pressure due to tensions in the Middle East.

The FOM and FIA have not yet made a decision regarding the continuation of the race at the Losail International Circuit. There have long been rumors that the Abu Dhabi race may also not take place and that Imola or a second race in Las Vegas could serve as a possible replacement.
No danger in Qatar
Al Mannai does not consider a canceled race. “Qatar has been safe for months now. Our airport is 100 percent operational and everyone here leads a normal life. Therefore, we are simply looking forward to organizing the race,” said the chairman in an interview with the QMMF.

“We are already busy preparing for the MotoGP race that will be held here soon (November 8, ed.). We are constantly in consultation with Formula 1, but of course we cannot predict what will happen. The situation has been very calm recently and it will depend on the coming months. The plans cannot just be canceled,” Al Mannai added. “We have to be ready. We are taking it all step by step, but for now it looks good.”
Earlier this year, the Grands Prix of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were also canceled due to the conflict in the Middle East. For Bahrain, the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia returns to the calendar for the first time since 2017. This race will be held under the flag of Bahrain. Saudi Arabia disappeared entirely from the schedule.
