The Frenchman looks ahead to the last Formula 1 race at the Zandvoort circuit, predicting a challenging race weekend mainly due to the sprint format. However, Ferrari’s approach remains the same, he says: “We take it race by race and focus on ourselves.”

Also for Ferrari, the summer break is over again. The Italian team – like the rest of the Formula 1 grid – has traveled to Zandvoort for the very last Dutch GP. The Scuderia experienced a disappointing weekend during the Hungarian GP with a fourth and fifth place for Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton respectively, after both drivers had started from a top three grid position.
Still, team principal Frédéric Vasseur does not change Ferrari’s approach plan for the second half of the season. “Zandvoort marks the start of the second part of the season and our approach remains the same: we take it race by race and focus on ourselves,” said the Frenchman in Ferrari’s preview. “We have recharged our batteries and are ready for what is expected to be a very exciting title fight.”

‘Zandvoort is a demanding circuit’
The Dutch Grand Prix is not only the first race after the summer break, but also immediately a sprint weekend. “As usual with the sprint format, we have only one practice session before the sprint qualifying, making preparation and getting everything right from the very first laps even more important,” Vasseur explains the challenge for his team. “Zandvoort is a demanding circuit for both the drivers and the cars, and our goal is simply to put ourselves in the best possible position and make the most of the opportunities that arise.”
