Fernando Alonso has driven in the second part of qualifying for the first time since Abu Dhabi 2025. Ultimately, the Spaniard qualified sixteenth for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Fernando Alonso looks back positively on his qualifying in Hungary. This is the first time Alonso has driven in Q2 since Abu Dhabi 2025. “It feels good and better. I missed the feeling that I could add something to the final result. Even if you drove a good lap or the setup was good, it didn’t matter in the last few races. The result didn’t change no matter what you did to the car. I like having the feeling again,” Alonso said after qualifying at the Hungaroring.

According to the Spaniard, there is still plenty of work to be done, but this is a step in the right direction: “We have all the resources to do well. We have the facilities, the money, the right people. It’s a matter of time until Aston Martin provides the chassis we can drive with and Honda makes the engine. But we don’t want to wait any longer, because we want to fight for something every weekend. We want to make this painful moment as short as possible,” said Alonso.
