The rumors about Max Verstappen’s Formula 1 future have been circulating for weeks, but the speculation reached a new peak after the British GP. After his crash at Stowe – Verstappen lost control of his RB22 due to the proper closing of his rear wing – the Dutchman immediately withdrew to the Red Bull motorhome. Ahead of the Belgian GP, Verstappen is asked if he still has confidence that Red Bull will bounce back: ‘We are just looking to the future’.

His manager Raymond Vermeulen had already tried to put an end to the speculation after Max Verstappen’s recent crash at Silverstone and told OE24 that ‘Max wants to finish his time at Red Bull’. During the press conference at Spa-Francorchamps, Verstappen himself is asked if he still has confidence in Red Bull to provide him with the right material to perform better.
‘Nothing really changes’
“We are just looking to the future and trying to solve the current problems,” said the world champion, who briefly looks back at the race at Silverstone. “Sometimes you are disappointed after a race, but then you go home and start again with a clean slate. As far as my approach and how we work as a team, nothing really changes. And people coming and going is part of it,” he refers to the recent departure of engineer Michael Manning to Williams. “Of course, you want people to stay, but that’s life, that’s sport. You have to move on and find new talent. That’s what we do.”

And when asked if he will stay with Red Bull next year, Verstappen answers: “I don’t want to say yes or no about my future every time. If there is news, as I said before, I will let you know.”
