Charles Leclerc, who repeatedly exceeded track limits after a spin in the last lap, did receive multiple time penalties. As a result, Verstappen retains his fifth place.

Because Verstappen crossed the white line when exiting the pit lane, the FIA stewards deemed a five-second time penalty justified. The Dutchman was also under scrutiny after a late touch with George Russell, but this did not result in sanctions. “Both drivers considered this incident a racing incident, and we share that conclusion,” was the stewards’ verdict.

Charles Leclerc did receive a penalty for repeatedly exceeding track limits. The Ferrari driver dropped from sixth to eighth place in the final classification. Lewis Hamilton and Franco Colapinto each moved up one position, with the Argentine recording his best Formula 1 result so far. Thanks to the penalties for the Monegasque, Verstappen also retains his fifth place.
