New racing class in the making! Anthony Hamilton reveals first HybridV10 concept

The first concept image of the new car design for Anthony Hamilton’s HybridV10 series has been revealed. The father of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is working behind the scenes on an independent racing class with powerful V8 and V10 engines, in which a limited form of hybrid technology is solely supportive. In the concept image, we see a car with a closed cockpit and an open wheel suspension.

According to the current schedule, the first V10 cars are expected to debut in 2028 or 2029, followed by a possible V8 class in 2029 or 2030. The goal is to organize the first HybridV10 events as early as 2028. Anthony Hamilton gave more insight into the progress via social media: “I have been raising money over the past months to get the project off the ground,” he said. “Since December, the project has been quietly developed behind the scenes. We are still aiming for a debut in 2028.”

Pure racing

The first digital render shows a car with a closed cockpit and aerodynamic features from Formula 1, as well as an open wheel suspension. The focus of the project is explicitly on the engine configuration, but also on the overall racing experience, with attention to performance, sound, competition, and fan experience. Hamilton wants to move away from modern additions that artificially influence racing: a design philosophy focused on fair, direct racing with as little dirty air and low weight as possible.

Although hybrid support was considered at an early stage, the first season seems to be mainly about pure atmospheric V10 power. Simulations reportedly show promising results according to insiders. Soon, the concept will also be physically tested in the wind tunnel. Anthony Hamilton previously emphasized that the core of the project lies in simplicity and the skills of the drivers. “My intention is to strip away complexity and put the focus back on the driver,” he said. “That means no artificial performance management, just real racing. Ultimately, I want pure, authentic racing, focused on the talent of the driver.”
