Ferrari team principal Frédéric Vasseur confirms that his team is bringing a number of ‘aerodynamic updates’ to the Miami GP. The Scuderia was previously spotted during a filming day at Monza with the much-discussed ‘Macarena’ wing. Although Vasseur does not mention the rear wing, he emphasizes the importance of making the most out of the only free practice session of the sprint weekend: ‘Other teams will also bring updates’.

Ferrari has also not been idle in the past five weeks since the Japan GP. The Scuderia traveled to the ‘Temple of Speed’ Monza to further test the much-discussed ‘Macarena’ wing among other things. Team principal Frédéric Vasseur is looking forward to racing again in Miami.
“We are very happy to finally be back on the track after such a long break,” says the French team principal in Ferrari’s preview. “Such a break in the middle of the season is quite unusual. In recent weeks, we have worked hard in Maranello and analyzed all the data from the first few races to prepare ourselves as best as possible for this race.”

‘Some updates’
Vasseur confirms that his team has brought some of the aerodynamic updates directly to Miami. Whether the Scuderia will use the ‘Macarena’ wing immediately remains to be seen. “We have some aerodynamic updates here, but of course the other teams will do the same,” the team principal continues. “That is why it is important to stay focused, keep our heads in the game, and get the most out of the only free practice.” The Miami GP is a sprint weekend, so there is only one free practice session scheduled. The FIA has announced that the single practice hour will be extended by thirty minutes.
