Norris – who saw his victory evaporate during the race at the Madring due to bad luck with the timing of the virtual safety car – was not pleased: “I just finished a race, so I can drink whatever I want.”

Lando Norris finished third on Sunday in Madrid. The Brit missed a chance for victory due to bad luck with the timing of the virtual safety car, and in the final phase of the race he could no longer overtake Max Verstappen for second place. In the cooldown room after the race, Norris was a bit down because of this when he was asked not to drink his can of Cola. The Coca-Cola Company is not an official sponsor of the Madring.
Although it was not clearly audible what exactly was said to the reigning world champion, Norris was clearly not happy with the request. The McLaren driver admitted to a surprised Andrea Kimi Antonelli that he “might get in trouble,” before he was probably asked to put the drink away. “I just finished a race, so I can drink whatever I want. Thank you very much,” was the 28-year-old driver’s response to the request.

‘Highlight of the race at Madring’
Fans on social media already called the moment “the highlight of the race at the Madring.” The Spanish GP received a lot of criticism due to the lack of overtaking maneuvers. The drivers were also critical afterwards. For example, Gabriel Bortoleto even said he was “almost falling asleep” during the Grand Prix.
