A huge crash led to a fireball on the Madring during the Formula 2 practice on Friday in Madrid. Driver Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak remained unharmed.

The first session for the F2 drivers, including the Dutchman Laurens van Hoepen, had barely started when the red flag was waved. It soon became clear why. Inthraphuvasak crashed hard exiting turn 19 on the new circuit in the Spanish capital.
While the car went up in flames, the ART driver quickly climbed out of the wreck. The Thai got himself to safety and thus appeared to come out of the incident unharmed.

After a few minutes, the marshals managed to extinguish the fire. The F2 session was stopped because repairs to the track need to be made after the fireball.
