Max Verstappen thinks it is great that Red Bull is giving Robin Räikkönen, son of former F1 driver and world champion Kimi Räikkönen, the chance to further develop. The youngest member (11) will be part of Red Bull’s talent program from next year. Verstappen already congratulated the Räikkönen family last Sunday in Monza on the sporting promotion, he revealed.

“I met them on Sunday before the Italian GP in Monza,” Max Verstappen said on Thursday in Madrid, ahead of the Spanish GP next Sunday. “They were upstairs (in the hospitality of Red Bull Racing, ed.), so I quickly caught up with Kimi and Robin there. That was nice. When I see them, I naturally have a chat and I already knew then that he had signed. Nice to see.”
The four-time world champion does not immediately expect the young Robin Räikkönen, who is considered a promising karting talent, to ever become his teammate in Formula 1. But he also does not completely rule it out in advance, he responds with a laugh.

“Who knows? Maybe, maybe not. Ultimately, they also need a seat for him within the team. Possibly I will step aside by then,” said Max Verstappen.
