Pierre Gasly is frustrated that he has lost his podium place for the Monaco GP after all. The Frenchman feels ‘robbed’ because he himself crossed the finish line third during the race in the principality. However, according to Gasly, the result was then determined in ‘offices’: “I did what I could on the track, now it’s up to my team.”

Pierre Gasly heard on Friday in Monza that he can no longer keep his third podium place in Monaco. The International Court of Appeal reinstated the time penalties of the Frenchman that had previously been waived. As a result, he drops back to seventh place for the race in the principality. It was Gasly’s first podium since the 2024 São Paulo GP.
“I think we are being robbed,” Gasly said bluntly, speaking to Canal+. “And I don’t think this will be the end of it. It was obvious: the speed we had in the pit lane,” the driver refers to the FOM measurement error that initially caused him to receive his time penalties. “There are many interpretations and legal battles being fought in offices over points that go beyond what happens in the sport. And that is sad, to see results being determined as a result of this kind of events.”

‘Now it’s up to Alpine’
According to Gasly, Alpine is not giving up on the result of the appeal by Red Bull and McLaren against the reversal of his time penalties. “On the track, we finished third. Then there was another twist. In any case, I leave the rest to my team. I did everything I could on the track, and now it’s up to them to do what is necessary. I have confidence in that.”
Alpine itself, however, said in an official statement that it accepts the ruling of the International Court of Appeal. Top executive Flavio Briatore then accused one of the four judges who oversaw the case of having ties to McLaren during a press conference.
