Ferrari has presented the special livery for the upcoming Italian GP. The team returns to the color scheme from the late nineties, the period in which Michael Schumacher celebrated his first successes with the red racing team. The SF-26 is painted fire red, with black accents and golden details on the rims. Ferrari thus pays tribute to Schumacher, who first joined the Scuderia thirty years ago.

“A livery that fits the home front,” Ferrari wrote on social media. “This is our color scheme for Monza, inspired by the lasting impact of Michael Schumacher on our team.” The acclaimed German raced for Ferrari for eleven seasons between 1996 and 2006, during which he led the team to unprecedented successes. Between 2000 and 2004, he won five consecutive world titles, still a unique achievement in Formula 1. After 2006, he said goodbye to the team and the sport, before making his comeback with Mercedes in 2010.
The special livery of the SF-26 appears largely based on the 1996 F310, Schumacher’s first Ferrari, with which he scored three Grand Prix wins, including in Monza. The car features a fire-red paint, black accents, and retro racing numbers. Additionally, golden details are applied to the rims. On the nose, seven stars can be seen, one for each world title Schumacher won in Formula 1. The stars are also found on the special racing suits that Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will wear.
