Isack Hadjar has good news for his Red Bull team ahead of the Italian GP at Monza. In Zandvoort, he still had to miss the race weekend due to a wrist injury. According to the driver himself, his wrist is healing quickly: ‘I therefore have good hope for Monza’.

Isack Hadjar was the big absentee on the grid in Zandvoort. The French-Algerian driver suffered a wrist injury during the summer break, which meant he had to hand over his RB22 to Liam Lawson during the last Dutch GP. A strange experience, Hadjar himself thought. “It’s my very first injury in my whole life, career, you name it,” he said in a video from Red Bull. “It’s strange to sit on the bench and I’m not happy about it, both for myself and for the team. Of course, I want to be there every lap.”
The question was already whether the driver would be recovered in time for the next Grand Prix at Monza. According to Hadjar himself, that chance is high. “It’s not swollen, and that’s very good,” he said already in Zandvoort. “That’s a good sign. So it’s actually healing quickly. Every day I can move it a little better again and I have good hope for Monza.”

Tribute to Lawson
Because Hadjar did not step into the cockpit during the Dutch GP – on the advice of MotoGP legend Marc Márquez – Lawson got another chance to prove himself in a Red Bull car. The New Zealander drove two races for the Austrians at the start of 2025 before he had to return to Racing Bulls. Team principal Laurent Mekies was, however, pleased with Lawson’s performances. “On Sunday he took the points we could get, and on Saturday he did very well in qualifying,” the Frenchman sums up to the media. “He was very close to Max, and we are grateful that he was able to adapt to the team so quickly.”
