Jos Verstappen reacts to new contract son Max at Red Bull: ‘Confidence in winning car’

The main reason for Max Verstappen to break open and extend his contract at Red Bull, which was still valid until 2028, is trust, says Jos Verstappen. “I have to say, Raymond (Vermeulen, Max Verstappen’s manager, ed.) has done a good job, together with Oliver Mintzlaff from Red Bull. The main argument is that there is trust in each other. Otherwise, of course, we would not have signed the contract.”

Both manager Raymond Vermeulen and Jos Verstappen have repeatedly indicated in the past that a choice for a team would be determined by sporting prospects. “Yes, the confidence is there that we will get a winning car again at Red Bull. But to what extent they actually manage that is always to be seen, you never know. The team has to take care of that. Of course, there are agreements about this in the contract. What those agreements are, we know and Red Bull knows, and we are not going to make that public.”
