The upcoming Hungarian GP marks a special milestone for Alex Albon. The British-Thai driver will be in action for the hundredth time for Williams at the Hungaroring. Albon made his F1 comeback with the Grove team in 2022, after a difficult period at Toro Rosso and Red Bull. Since then, he has played a key role in Williams’ resurgence. He proudly looks back on the past 99 Grands Prix.

“Driving a hundred races for this team means a lot to me,” Albon said in an official press release. “It’s been quite a journey since I first came here, and it’s always nice to look back at the memories we’ve built together over the past few years. I’m proud of how far we’ve come.” When Albon joined the team in 2022, Williams was at the bottom of Formula 1. Nevertheless, he managed to score important championship points for the British team.
‘On to the next hundred’
In the years that followed, Williams impressively worked its way up, not only sportingly but also commercially. The arrival of Carlos Sainz in 2025 underlined the team’s growth and ambitions. Moreover, Williams finished a strong fifth in the constructors’ championship last year, thanks in part to good points finishes from Albon and several podiums from his Spanish teammate. Although Williams has had to take a step back this season, their ambitions for the future remain undiminished.

“There is still so much more I want to achieve with Williams and in Formula 1,” Albon confirmed. “This weekend, as always, it’s about performing as well as possible and fighting for the best possible result. On to the next hundred,” he concluded defiantly.
