Carlos Sainz is the next driver in an already long list to receive a grid penalty for the Belgian GP. The Spaniard also receives new engine components for his Williams car, resulting in a ten-place grid penalty. Sainz qualified fourteenth but will now start the Belgian Grand Prix from nineteenth place.

Despite his ten-place grid penalty, Carlos Sainz cannot start from the very back of the field because Isack Hadjar, Lance Stroll, and Fernando Alonso already occupy the rear starting positions due to their own grid penalties. Lando Norris completes the list of drivers with grid penalties for the Belgian Grand Prix. The McLaren driver qualified third but will start his Belgian GP from thirteenth place.
Sainz receives his grid penalty for a new Control Electronics Unit (PU-CE). It is the fourth for the Spaniard, exceeding the allowed number of three.
