Charles Leclerc has the honor of being the first to take the lead and make the first test laps on the Madring. The newest circuit on the Formula 1 calendar is still under construction, but Ferrari already held a filming day with both Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton. Footage shows the Monegasque racing around the circuit near the Spanish capital.

The Madring – the circuit near the Spanish capital Madrid where the Spanish GP will be held from this year – is still under construction, but Ferrari already traveled to the newest circuit on the calendar to do some test laps. Charles Leclerc was the first driver to drive on the track for a filming day. Various footage on social media already shows the Monegasque – with and without the filming car – racing around the new Spanish circuit.

Back to Spain
For Ferrari, the filming day at the Madring is the second of the two allowed promotional days. On the weekend of September 12 and 13, the Scuderia – together with the other F1 teams – will return for the first Spanish GP in Madrid. Earlier in June, a race was already held in Spain, under the name GP Catalonia at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This race was won by Lewis Hamilton, who thus took his first victory in Ferrari red.
