No fewer than 26 Dutch drivers took part in action in the ‘Green Hell’ in recent days, leading up to and during the 24 Hours of Nürburgring. Verstappen made the most headlines, led for a long time and seemed on course for victory with his teammates in the #3 car. Unfortunately for him and the Verstappen.com Racing team, Daniel Juncadella had to park the car in the pits at the end of Sunday morning, shortly after the driver change. Problems with the driveshaft, goodbye victory and good result.

Dutch success

However, there was plenty of Dutch success. Jeroen Bleekemolen, columnist for Formule1.nl and analyst for FORMULE 1 Paddockpraat, won the race in the SP10 class with Cerny Motorsport. Bleekemolen did this in a BMW M4 GT4 Evo. There were also wins for Carlo van Dam in the SP4T class, Paul Meijer (Cup 2) and Marco van Ramshorst (AT2).

For other compatriots, the legendary race went less well. In the highest category, there was a promising start for Nicky Catsburg’s team, but damage followed to the front of the #130 Lamborghini. Morris Schuring and his teammates were also initially doing well with the Falken Porsche, but the Dutchman made a mistake during an overtaking maneuver and crashed with the #44 car.

He was registered not only with #75 (DNF), but also with #19, together with among others Jan Jaap van Roon. That car was classified 65th.
