Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished fourth in the Miami sprint after a hard-fought battle with his teammate George Russell, but had to give up this position shortly after. A setback for Andrea Kimi Antonelli after the sprint race in Miami: the young Italian lost his hard-fought fourth place due to a five-second time penalty. The Mercedes driver received the penalty for exceeding track limits during his battle with teammate George Russell. The Brit thus inherited fourth place from Kimi Antonelli, and Max Verstappen also moved up a position. The driver sees his teammate closing in on him in the championship but still holds the lead.

Another poor start

After the shortened race, the Italian does not talk about the time penalty, but about his latest poor race start of the season. “The start was good from my perspective,” Kimi Antonelli tells Viaplay. “The procedure went well, and this time I did everything as it should be. It was therefore a shame that I lost several positions again. It is what it is, and now the focus is on qualifying.”
