Jos Verstappen no longer needs to drive laps in an F1 car for the time being. The Dutch driver was active in the top class for eight seasons between 1994 and 2003, but has now fully dedicated himself to rallying. Racing on unpaved roads is much more exciting for him than the work of his son Max, he explains in an exclusive special of the podcast Formula 1 Paddock Talk.

When asked whether he prefers Formula 1 or rally driving, Jos Verstappen responds clearly: “I like rally much more now. I really don’t need to drive an F1 car anymore, not even for a few laps. I have done it, but that’s enough. What is happening in the family now, I find much more beautiful. Watching Max also gives me as much pleasure as getting behind the wheel myself. I just find this much more exciting.”
