Christian Horner reveals how life after his long time at Red Bull suits him. The Brit had to leave the Austrians last year, but has been linked for some time now with a return to the top class. Horner himself says he is still mainly focused on ‘free time’: ‘For the first time in thirty years, I can enjoy that again for a while’.

Less than a year after his sudden departure from Red Bull, Christian Horner was back in the paddock in Monte Carlo. This time at the electric racing class Formula E, as a guest of parent company Liberty Global. The Brit enjoyed his trip to Monaco. “I’m enjoying a bit of free time, and it’s really nice to be at a race where you absolutely don’t feel any pressure,” he told talkSPORT.
“Normally, if you’re on this starting grid, you’d be worried about the next two hours, but I’m here just to learn a bit more about Formula E,” Horner continued. “I’m here as a guest of the people from Liberty Global, and it’s great to see how this championship is developing.”

‘For the first time in thirty years free time’
Horner’s visit to the Formula E paddock comes amid many rumors surrounding the Brit. The former Red Bull team principal was earlier linked to a role within Alpine – although he himself has already downplayed these rumors – and his name was also mentioned for a top position within MotoGP.
The former Red Bull team principal says he is mainly still enjoying his free time. “Yes, look, I went to MotoGP to watch the bikes, and I went to a few Coventry City matches – they made it to the Premier League – so I had a great time,” he explained. “For the first time in thirty years, I’ve had some free time, especially with my family, so that was nice.”
