Isack Hadjar is disappointed that he ultimately only managed a seventh place start during the qualifying for the GP Canada. The teammate of Max Verstappen had to watch as the Dutchman was just a little faster than him by less than three hundredths of a second. ‘I am very disappointed because I did very well in Q1 and Q2, and then I didn’t manage it in Q3,’ Hadjar explained.

A notable moment during qualifying in Canada: Isack Hadjar ended Q2 with the fastest lap time. However, in Q3 things went wrong for Max Verstappen’s teammate, and he only managed a seventh place start. In the end, there was less than three hundredths of a second between the two Red Bull drivers.
Hadjar expressed his frustration to the Canal+ cameras after the Saturday session. “I drove a terrible lap,” said the French-Algerian driver. “Because of that, I am very disappointed, as I did very well in Q1 and Q2, and then I didn’t manage it in Q3. I’m a bit annoyed because we really had a good car and it was a great opportunity. And now I ended up seventh. The team did a great job, we found out what was wrong. That’s good, but then you have to get everything in order, and I didn’t manage that.”

The Red Bull driver ultimately missed pole position by 0.357 seconds. Previously, the Frenchman had not been so close to the first starting position. “That’s why I’m dissatisfied,” he complained. “We did good work. We know that we are quite good on this kind of circuits, and it should also work in Monaco, but we have big problems that we need to solve.”
Satisfaction still prevails
Still, satisfaction also prevails with Hadjar, as he later told the media present in Montreal. “Miami is in the past for me, and now it’s back to normal business,” he announced. Hadjar could not finish the race in Florida after he hit the wall due to his own mistake. “I am satisfied with the car, satisfied with the setup changes we made between Friday and qualifying. We got a lot closer to pole position, so we are doing well.”
