Valtteri Bottas is driving for the Cadillac team for the first time this year. The Finn had to say goodbye to Sauber in 2024 and then spent a year as a reserve driver for Mercedes on the sidelines. This season Bottas made his comeback, but it is uncertain how much longer he has in the top class.

Both Sky Italia and the German BILD report that the lack of performance from the Finn could cost him his seat. Bottas is said to be performing worse than his teammate Sergio Pérez. The Mexican finished ahead of the Finn in two of the three Grands Prix that both Cadillac drivers were able to finish. Herta is currently a test driver for the American racing team and races in Formula 2 for the Cadillac-supported Hitech. The former IndyCar driver still needs to earn the necessary points for his FIA super license. At the moment he is five points short of being allowed to race in Formula 1. With an eighth place or better in the F2 championship, Herta can earn six points. The American is currently twelfth in the F2 championship with 16 points earned in three rounds.
