Yuki Tsunoda was back in action yesterday behind the wheel of a Red Bull Formula 1 car. The Japanese driver, who serves as test and reserve driver this season, performed a demonstration run in Istanbul to mark the announcement that the Turkish Grand Prix will return to the F1 calendar from 2027.

The demonstration took place shortly after Formula 1 officially announced that Turkey had signed a five-year contract, making Istanbul Park a permanent fixture on the calendar again from 2027 to 2031. The circuit last hosted during the pandemic-affected seasons of 2020 and 2021, after previously having a permanent spot between 2005 and 2011.

During the demonstration, Tsunoda drove the Red Bull RB8, the car with which Sebastian Vettel won his third world title in 2012. The showrun took place both through the streets of Istanbul and on the asphalt of Istanbul Park.
