The month of April could suddenly become a fairly quiet one for Verstappen in terms of F1 obligations. The war in the Middle East has meant that the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian GPs might be cancelled. However, that is still far from certain. A decision will likely only be made in over a week and a half, and in the meantime, according to sources in the paddock, the freight for Formula 2, for example, is being packed ‘as usual’ on Sunday. So a cancellation is still far from certain.

Should it be the case that F1 does not race in Bahrain and/or Saudi Arabia, there might suddenly be room for Verstappen to race in NLS, for example. Some things have already appeared in the media about races in Germany. “Driving there at least gives more pleasure,” it sounded cynically in Melbourne on Saturday regarding the handling of the new F1 cars.
