VIDEO: Verstappen races in the snow on the Nordschleife: ‘It was just like ice’

Max Verstappen traveled immediately to the Nürburgring Nordschleife after a disappointing Japanese GP. On Tuesday, he tested again with the Mercedes-AMG GT3, the same car in which he participated in the NLS2 race earlier this year. Although it is now spring in Germany as well, Verstappen encountered a very special phenomenon on the famous German ‘Green Hell’: snow.

In addition to 22 Grands Prix this year, Max Verstappen is also participating in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, his first 24-hour race. The Dutchman therefore travels to the Nordschleife as often as he can to complete as many test kilometers as possible. The famous German circuit is located in the middle of the Eifel, where the weather is known for its variability. As a result, Verstappen even encountered snow during his laps on the Nordschleife this week.

“We are driving at full speed on the straights. Suddenly it starts snowing very hard,” the Dutchman says afterwards, as can be seen on Red Bull Germany’s Instagram channel. “It was just like I was driving on ice. Of course, I was driving very safely,” the world champion says with a laugh.
