Due to Max Verstappen’s participation in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, a record crowd is expected on and around the circuit. For the first time in the history of the endurance classic, the weekend tickets are already completely sold out: Max Mania is in full swing. Meanwhile, the organization has issued a call to the many motorsport fans traveling to the Eifel; spectators are advised to carpool and to travel to the Nürburgring before the weekend.
Last week, the organization already announced that all weekend tickets for the 24 Hours of Nürburgring are sold out. For fans who still want to catch a glimpse of Max Verstappen’s 24-hour debut, a limited number of day tickets for Thursday, Friday, and Sunday are still available. A limit had to be set in advance on the number of admission tickets. This is related to the available parking spaces and camping spots on and around the circuit. Moreover, large crowds are expected on the limited number of access roads.
Overwhelming response
“Of course, we are extremely happy with the overwhelming response from both loyal and new fans,” explained Walter Hornung, race director of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, to Auto, Motor und Sport. “This year we were truly overwhelmed by the interest. At the same time, we are naturally working closely with the Nürburgring and the authorities to ensure an orderly and safe experience for all visitors. That is why, for the first time in the more than fifty-year history of the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, we had to limit the number of tickets.”
The organization also calls on fans to carpool to reduce traffic congestion. They also recommend traveling to the circuit on Thursday or Friday. On Saturday, when the main race starts promptly at 3:00 PM, it promises to be especially busy.
