After his seventh place in the only one and a half hour free practice, Lando Norris now managed to drive himself to the sprint pole in Miami. He kept Kimi Antonelli two tenths behind him. “It is a perfect result for us. A nice reward for the team. We have new upgrades on the car, so it’s nice to have some grip again, but the team has done a lot of good work,” said the Brit.

About the sprint qualifying Norris said the following: “Of course it’s the start of the weekend, so there’s still a long way to go, but it’s nice to get this. Every track is different and this circuit is always good for us. I felt comfortable and had grip. We did one lap and that was rewarded. I’m happy to be back after such a long time,” said Norris.
