Alonso’s son, Leonard Alonso Jiménez, was sent an official paddock pass, giving him access to the paddock during all F1 sessions in 2026. The card features a baby photo and the text: ‘Welcome to the F1 family’. Alonso reacted with delight: “Thank you very much,” the Spanish veteran wrote in the caption. “The first of many.”
The post is being widely shared on social media. Many fans are commenting that Leonard Alonso Jiménez – already in possession of a paddock pass – will undoubtedly follow in his father’s footsteps. Alonso is considered one of the great champions of modern Formula 1 and is also the longest-serving driver in the history of the sport. In Japan, the Spanish star drove his 431st Grand Prix.
