Oliver Bearman shocked the entire paddock at Suzuka. The young driver crashed into the barriers with an impact of 50G during the Japanese GP, after having to avoid a much slower Franco Colapinto earlier. Quite soon after the heavy crash, it became known that Bearman did not suffer any fractures from the incident, but still feels its effects.

“Yes, I’m doing well, thanks for asking,” Bearman tells Sportbible about his health. “It was difficult to travel home, because of course I didn’t move much after the crash.” Still, the Haas driver thinks he was lucky with his crash. He was already back at work for his team that same week. “I had swelling on my knee, but everything is fine now. Fortunately, it was my right knee, so I didn’t have any trouble with it.
