FIA issues official weather warning for GP Canada

For the second Grand Prix in a row, the FIA issues an official weather warning. According to the latest forecasts, the chance of rain showers over Circuit Gilles Villeneuve during the main event on Sunday is more than forty percent, which means the governing body must issue a rain warning.

Just like during the race weekend in Miami, the weather forecasts for the rest of the Canadian race weekend are once again a popular topic of conversation in the paddock. Although the rain has so far stayed away from Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the expectation for the Grand Prix on Sunday is that heavy downpours will occur. “In accordance with article B1.5.11 of the FIA F1 regulations, after receiving a weather forecast from the official weather service predicting that the chance of precipitation at any time during the race of this event will be greater than 40 percent, a rain warning is issued,” reads the official statement. The GP Canada starts on Sunday evening at 22:00 Dutch time.
