Max Verstappen will start the Monaco Grand Prix from second position behind Kimi Antonelli and ahead of Lewis Hamilton. It was exciting until the end whether Verstappen or Antonelli would take pole. “If you had told me yesterday that I would qualify on the front row, I would have signed for it. We had some problems with the car this morning, and to be here now is very positive,” Verstappen said after qualifying in Monaco.

Verstappen said the following about qualifying: “I am very happy with how qualifying went when you look at the walls and the traffic. These cars are different to drive than in previous years, but to be able to drive flat out here now is very positive. Let’s see how we start tomorrow, because I have two fast cars behind me, but it was a good day.”
